About Our Investment Philosophy - What We Don't Cover
Our Investment Philosophy
Welcome to our automotive investment blog, where we focus on undervalued cars with genuine investment potential. But before we dive into what we cover, it’s important to understand what we deliberately avoid.
What We Don’t Cover
Obvious Classics
We don’t waste time discussing cars that everyone already knows are valuable. Ferrari 250 GTOs, Porsche 911 Turbos from the 1970s, and other blue-chip classics are well-documented elsewhere. Our focus is on the overlooked gems.
Flavor-of-the-Month Hype
We avoid cars that are currently trending on social media or in mainstream automotive press. By the time everyone is talking about a car’s investment potential, it’s usually too late to get in at reasonable prices.
Pure Speculation
We don’t promote cars based on wild speculation or wishful thinking. Every recommendation is backed by solid analysis of market trends, production numbers, and genuine automotive merit.
Modern Supercars
While we occasionally discuss modern supercars, we focus on those with unique characteristics that set them apart from the crowd. We’re not interested in the latest limited edition that’s simply a marketing exercise.
What We Do Focus On
Undervalued Performance Cars
Cars that offer genuine performance and driving pleasure but are currently undervalued by the market. These are often overshadowed by more famous siblings or dismissed for superficial reasons.
Last-of-Their-Kind Vehicles
Cars that represent the end of an era - the last manual transmissions, naturally aspirated engines, or analog driving experiences before technology took over.
Market Inefficiencies
We identify situations where the market has incorrectly valued a car, often due to misconceptions, lack of awareness, or temporary trends that have suppressed values.
Long-Term Perspective
Our investment horizon is measured in years, not months. We look for cars that will be appreciated by future enthusiasts, not just current trends.
Our Methodology
Every car we discuss undergoes rigorous analysis including production numbers, market trends, driving dynamics, and historical significance. We believe in buying cars you’d want to own regardless of investment potential - because the best investments are often the cars you never want to sell.
Remember: the best time to buy a future classic is before everyone else realizes it’s a future classic.
